How do I clean and look after my products?

For day-to-day cleanings use a soft cloth and a suitable metal cleaner. Do not use abrasives on the surface as this can remove the finish and damage the piece.

As with most metal items you may see some tarnishing over time, but its easy to renew the metal with a suitable metal cleaner such as Brasso.

Bronze should not be washed in a dishwasher.

How are your pieces made?

Our pieces are cast by the lost wax process. This is an ancient method of casting that has been used for thousands of years. First a wax copy of the original is made, this is encased in plaster before it is baked. The wax flows out of the plaster jacket, leaving a negative space which is filled with bronze.

All our pieces are handmade. From the mould all the way through finishing and patina.

Are your pieces made from solid bronze?

Yes. Everything we make is cast in solid bronze.

What's the difference between cold-cast bronze and your products?

Cold-cast bronze is made of a resin mixed with bronze powder. These wont be durable nor food safe and contain lots of harmful chemicals.

Our pieces are made from solid bronze (an alloy of copper and tin) which is melted at 1300C before being used to produce our castings. Its antimicrobial and will last forever.

Is bronze foodsafe?

Yes, in fact bronze is antibacterial and antiviral. People have been using bronze utensils and tableware for thousands of years.
